SSV Future Programs

The public is welcome to our meetings that take place at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge, the Rotunda Room, 250 Pantops Mountain Road, Charlottesville, Virginia. They usually are on the second Wednesday of the month from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. There is no charge, although we suggest you join our group that has been in existence for 25 years. The membership dues are only $20 for a year and can be paid online on the ‘Join SSV’ page. Your dues will help us continue to deliver top quality presentations. If you have questions or would like to receive a sample of our monthly newsletter, please email info@seniorstatesmen.org.

Future Program:

Wednesday, December 14 at 1:45 p.m. Welcoming Refugees in Charlottesvillefeaturing Harriet Kuhr, executive director, International Rescue Committee; Kari Anderson Miller founder of International Neighbors; Sue Moffett, director, Charlottesville Department of Social Services; and Samuel Spencer, Self-Sufficiency Unit program manager, Albemarle County Department of Social Services.  Note that the annual business meeting for members will start at 1:30 p.m.

The State has refugee programs to help in resettlement. How are the City, County and nonprofits working to implement them? How are The City, County and non-profits  preparing for the next influx of refugees?  We don’t necessarily know where they will come from, but they will come.  How is the community at large helping or might help?
