SSV Future Programs

The public is welcome to our meetings. Beginning August 14, 2024, the meetings will take place at The Center at Belvedere, 540 Belvedere Boulevard , Charlottesville, VA 22901, the second Wednesday of the month from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is no charge, although we suggest you join our group which has been in existence for 25 years. The membership dues are only $25 per year and can be paid online on the ‘Join SSV’ page. Your dues will help us continue to deliver top-quality presentations. You won’t want to miss this program on voting and elections, with experts Taylor Yowell, City of Charlottesville General Registrar and Director of Elections and Lauren Eddy, Albemarle County General Registrar and Director of Elections.

You’ll hear about any voting process changes for this election, voter registration status and updates, absentee voting, early voting, provisional voting and turnout projections and, you will be able to ask your questions of our experts.

Lauren Eddy
Albemarle Country  

Lauren Eddy currently serves as the General Registrar and Director of Elections for Albemarle County Voter Registration & Elections. She has worked in the department for 18 years, and as the past Deputy Registrar for 16 years. Lauren is a Virginia Registered Election Official, as well as a National Certified Election/ Registration Administrator. Lauren prides herself on being one of the gatekeepers of democracy. As a lifelong resident of Albemarle County, Lauren takes great pride in her service to the citizens of Albemarle County.

Taylor Yowell
City of Charlottesville

Taylor Yowell serves as the Director of Elections and General Registrar for the City of Charlottesville. She got her start in elections serving as an Election Official recruited by her sister, the Director of Elections in Madison County. Hired four years ago as Charlottesville Deputy Registrar she served only six months in that position before being promoted to her current position. A lifelong resident of Central Virginia, Taylor takes great pride in continuing with her staff to promote accurate and fair elections in Charlottesville.

The program will be moderated by SSV Board member, Jim Nix, also member of Charlottesville Electoral Board.
